In 1994 the merchants of downtown Port Coquitlam joined together and formed an association. The Business Improvement Association of Port Coquitlam is a non-profit society with the mandate to enhance the business environment and opportunities in the Downtown Area.

We feel that one of the ways to do that is to hold events such as the annual Downtown PoCo Car Show every August, May Day celebrations in the spring, a Harvest Festival in October and a special lighting of our downtown in December each year.  Our agenda is simple, we want to put a smile on your face and make you want to come back. 

We believe that our event sponsorship funding is made possible by local shoppers – thank you.  We appreciate your support.  Please try to shop local whenever possible, the community you improve will be your own – we guarantee it and work hard to “Reward Local Shoppers”.

In addition we also work hard to keep our area clean and safe. We are proud to do business in Downtown Port Coquitlam and want each visitor to be comfortable and enjoy their experiences while visiting.
