The
Greater Vancouver region has seen tremendous population growth in recent
years. A significant portion of this growth has occurred in the tri-cities
area, as evidenced by new residential development in Westwood Plateau,
Heritage Mountain and Mary Hill. Closer to home, there is a major boom
in apartment and townhouse development adjacent to downtown Port Coquitlam.
Downtown Port Coquitlam is situated in the centre of a vast and growing market area. By lobbying for transportation improvements, and actively promoting the downtown area, local businesses are poised to take advantage of increased market opportunities. The Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association was formed in 1994 with the mandate of revitalizing the downtown area and enhancing local business opportunities.
With the development of two major projects in the downtown area; the
new Bank of Montreal building and Shaughnessy Square, we can anticipate further
investment and greater momentum for downtown revitalization. |
